Pedicures are a popular treatment in the beauty and nail industry and it is just as important as the manicure. The word pedicure is derived from the Latin word “pes” which means ” foot”, and cura which means “care”.

During the pedicure treatment dead skin cells, hangnails, excess cuticle are removed from the feet. The skin is nourished and hydrated using nourishing lotions, oils, mask or paraffin wax.

It is important that you take care of your nails and feet in between appointments after the pedicure treatment.

  • When changing nail polish a non-acetone nail polish remover should be used to avoid constantly dehydrating the nail plate.
  • To prevent ingrowing toe nails, cut and file your nails in one direction
  • Constantly check your feet for any unusual changes, discomfort or foot conditions.
  • Go for pedicure treatment regularly
  • To prevent build up of hard skin, use a foot file at least 3 times a week.
