In everyone’s life there is always a waiting period for a next phase, sometimes it is short and sometimes it becomes a long wait. Whatever the wait is for whether academics, career, marriage, child birth etc. These scriptures will help uphold and energize your faith.
This season for me is the life partner waiting season so some of the notes are a reflection of that but the word of God is applicable to all situations. I wrote extensively about Intentionally waiting and defining where you stand with your relationship here and here, with this perspective, the word of God becomes clearer and easy to follow.

Matthew 6 vs 33-34 puts one’s life into perspective as a born again Christian. He will attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and how he works fuss over these things, but you know God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. These scriptures have been my pillar and I know this will bless a lot of men and women out there.
Jeremiah 29:11I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out- plans to take care of you, not to abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
Note- This is basically my “ASSURANCE”, I can rest with this knowledge knowing I am well taken care of and I am not alone.
Ephesians 2: 7-10Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
Note- This scripture gave me a perspective to why I was truly saved and what I’m actually called to do even beyond my waiting but more importantly this season of my life.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end, Love never dies.
Note- My definition of love which is God’s definition is what shapes what I demand and what I’m expected to give both in my everyday life as a born again Christian and in my life partner. Our definition must come from the same source so we can agree.
Matthew 28: 19-20Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you, I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.
Note- As children of God it is our duty to do the work of God, at the beginning of this wait without any distraction I was able to focus and put all my energy into serving God and doing His will, more because it is an instruction.
Ephesians 2: 8-9Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves.
Note- Like all these scriptures this one came timely when my faith was tried and God was telling me I don’t play a role in the making of His plans for me.
Josh 1:9 Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.
Note- One of my wake up call and assurance scriptures.
James 1: 2-3Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows it’s true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed not deficient in any way.
Note- This opened my eyes that even in tough situations I must first look deep for the possible lessons the Holy Spirit is trying to teach me before going into panic mode or depression or soliciting for help. Every experience is either a blessing or a lesson.
Romans 8:31So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us.
Note- The ultimate sacrifice has proven to me that all my wants no matter how humanly impossible it seems is available to me with God.
Philippians 4: 6-7Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down, it’s wonderful what happened when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life.
Note- The word of God is always timely and has a purpose, this scripture always puts me at peace and gives me direction every time.
1 Corinthians 6: 19-20Didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place pf the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see of in and through your body.
Note– Knowing that my service and obedience to God isn’t just in kingdom stewardship but also with my body gave me a sense of responsibility and commitment to God, prioritizing my purity both mind and body.
1 Corinthians 10 vs 13No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Note– I had to paste this scripture on my wall, if you have to also, by all means. Knowing that I’m not alone in a bubble of temptation is a relief, when I get tempted I immediately call on the Holy spirit for help and I move along with my day.
I hope these scriptures minister to you and help you even more than they have helped me.
Thank you for reading.
